In my line of work I sometimes deal with the occasional troublemaker. Sometimes it’s the loud mouth trying to impress his buddies, the couple who decides out theater is a Motel 6, and the most recent drunk guy who wants to impress his girlfriend.
Monday was a peaceful night for the most part we were a little busy due to schools being out the next day. I was chatting with my box office guy, Roderick, when I got a call to come to customer service. Seeing as I am a customer service king, I stepped out to meet an angry lady who had been disrespected by another patron.
So I followed her back to the theater and told her unless I hear it I can’t do anything about it.. To which she wasn’t happy, but understood that it was policy.
**Side note here. I don’t agree with the corporate way I have to handle people. I have to bow down to the wrong doers and reward them. In old theater I worked for I just chucked them out no harm no foul.. I have become so sick of this I decided to remedy the situation on this night… my way***
Once I realized I was tired of holding my southern ways back I went in and as luck would have it there he was loud, drunk, and ready for a good time. So I walked up to the fella and told him the party was over, it was time to go. He told me to make him, I told him I’d be happy to.
Seeing that I am a mountain of a man he decided to come along with girlfriend in tow. As we walked through the lobby he suddenly got very brave and started to insult me, by calling me fat, and even said I couldn’t beat him up on his worst day.. I laughed at him.
He demanded a refund to which I said not today. I told him he had lost his chance when he decided to act like an idiot ( not the first time I cave called a customer an idiot)
We made our way to the parking lot where he still where he still talked junk and even tried to fake like he was gonna hit me.. When I didn’t flinch and faked like i was gonna hit hit back he knew it was time to leave.
As he left he said one last “insult” I’m sorry this isn’t KFC fat boy.
Now don’t get me wrong I can take a verbal thrashing like a trooper and it not effect me in the least. Call me fat, question my manhood, pick on the way I walk… But Don’t ever take the good name of KFC and smear it in the mud, that’s where I draw the line!!
Oh it’s a great day to be alive
Man I’m getting to old for this hehehe maybe it’s time for a career change???
